Last week, for the first time in Canadian history, the Parliament held an official Nowrooz celebration, which was attended by the Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, thirty MPs, and members of the Iranian and Afghan communities. The event was organized by members of parliament Maryam Monsef, Majid Jowhari, and Ali Ehsassi, who are of Afghan and Iranian descent.

Atash weekly was the main Iranian media to cover the event at the parliament. Our report was sent to 7000 daily e-newsletter subscribers who welcomed it by showing their support through social media. You can read the full report inside this issue.

We’ve also included an article about Jian Ghomeshi as well as a walk down memory lane with colleagues of Rob Ford, the former Toronto mayor who passed away last week.
